Spring will be springing soon enough and I thought it might be nice to organise another London Briard-a-thon! If you'd like to come along please vote for your preferred date. Additionally, if you would like to attend but are unavailable on any of these dates, please leave a comment stating which are no good for you. Thanks e'er so much and hope to see you soon! |

Sunday is best for us. Look forward to it. We were watching Notting Hill over Christmas and the kids said "that is where the Briard a Ton was on. Hugh Grant walked through Ivy's hedge (topiary) thing.

Hi Emme and Ivy
Would love to come to another Briard-a-thon, but as we don't know what day our Mum will have to work we can't give a date. She said once a day is arranged then she will try and get that day off, then our Dad and Mum will bring us along

We can't make it, but I know Trent Park very well and it is just ideal for this event. We used to spend al lot of weekends walking our dogs there or just accross Enfield in Epping Forest.
Enjoy the day and look forward to seeing the pics.

Brion and I would very much like to come on 2nd May. What a brilliant sounding place. He's a very friendly Briard (and I'm a very friendly owner) but would people mind his muzzle? He'd be absolutely fine with other Briards and with Briard knowledgeable people but he looks so beautiful and friendly that we daren't risk him unmuzzled near strange people because he can react unpredictably if he thinks people who he doesn't know are being over familiar. Do say no if we'd put others off (though I must admit I hope you won't). amanda |

I am sure no one will mind if Brion wears his muzzle. It is much better to be safe than sorry.

Do not worry Amanda, Brion will not be the only dog with a muzzle. As Lotte can be unpredictable too.

Great. Thanks. I met an older lady the other day when walking on Headley Heath (near here) and she had four Cocker Spaniels with her, each almost completely covered in a coat (a bit like the suits of armour that jousting horses used to wear). I rather rashly remarked that I was afraid that my dogs felt a bit under dressed by comparison. She replied very stiffly that 'at least they don't have dustbins on their heads'!! So Brion will be there to compare dustbins with Lotte! His is a Great Dane sized basket type, and it doesn't look too bad. Amanda |

My dearest Mademoiselle Ivy
Miss Millie & Mademoiselle Belle have requested that I confirm their acceptance of your kind invitation to the Briard-A-Thon and they wished me to say that they are looking forward to the occasion with great delight. The also said that the servant who created the invitation was very talented indeed and they would like to know more about her when they meet with you at the Briard-A-Thon.
On behalf of Miss Millie & Mademoiselle Belle

Hello, hello!
If you are planning to attend the briard-a-thon this weekend could you please private message me?
It appears we have a little weather heading our way and I need to determine whether to postpone the briard-a-thon or carry on in the stoic manner befitting a British briard.
When you message me, please let me know:
1. Your name and mobile number
2. Whether you have a hotel booking or not
3. Whether you are free the following Sunday or not
Thanking you in advance!
Emme

From the nature of the responses I'm getting, it looks like we should proceed with the briard-a-thon this Sunday! We will meet at the cafe at 11 so I look forward to seeing you all there rain or shine!! Hoorah!

Hello again!
I just want to reconfirm that despite the dark grey skies and inevitably soggy briards that will ensue, the briard-a-thon is still on tomorrow! Come along if you're brave and bring your wellingtons!
