Hi All

Thought I would put the cat amongst the pigeons - what's everyone think of the new legislation they are thinking of bringing in regarding dangerous dogs. As usual it will be the law abiding citizens who get stung whilst the irresponsible owners will just ignore the whole thing. I do think they need to do something, but what they have suggested is just not practical. It will be targeted at the wrong people.

Hi Debbie

totally agree. The people that this is aimed at are not bothered about any form of legislation. The dogs proberbly don't see a vet for the primary injections let alone anything else. We have a problem locally with dog fouling, despite repeated requests for patrols we are lucky to see an enforcement officer. If people can't be concerned to clear up after their dogs despite it being law, then are they going to insure them?? Also how will it be monitered, we had given a home to a Labrador, back in th 70's and the local beat bobby used to stop us every week and make a fuss of her and our other dog. Not once were we ever asked if we had a licence for them!!!!
Something needs to be done but what and how!!!!

no matter how many laws they pass if no one is there to enforce it...
it take only a small bunch of irresponsable owner to make hell for all the rest, but i do agree that something has to be done Shocked
