Just been looking at this and I am quite interested!!

http://www.ambermotorhomes.co.uk/dog-caravans.html

I can't find much review wise on these holidays, so I wondered if anyone has heard of them on here? and is there enough space for a Briard?

Thanks! Very Happy

Well I thought it would be good for Sirius as he loves being out on the road, but I would like to know more about the firm, and the motorhomes. I don't want Sirius all cramped up...they do look good though!

I am sure Sirius will be fine. We have converted a transit van into a motorhome and Stroller fitted in a treat. We did have an awning on it for during the day but during the night obviously we all slept inside.

Our transit van is smaller than then motorhomes so I think you will be fine.

We checked out some motorhomes this year whilst we were on holiday and you will probably find the 4 berth you will have a double bed over the cab so sirius would have the 'downstairs' for sleeping.

They are just like caravans with engines.

Excellent!!! Thanks so much Dollybug!! Very Happy

I know what will happen though, as Sirius sleeps on our bed at home (he has a dog bed but refuses to use it) He will try to get on my bed, and if he can't he will grumble all night!!

If you look at the layouts of the vans you will see they have beds downstairs too which means Sirius will be close to you still.

One thing, and I don't know if you have camped before, majority of sites insist on your dog being on a lead all the time so you might want to think about getting a goat hook and lead, they do some long ones. We put ours right by the door so Stroller could sit inside or outside as he wished.

He soon got the hang of the camping and loved it - to him it just meant loads more walks and being with us 24/7.

They certainly look lovely vans.

Oh yes!! we are very old hands at camping, just not in a camper van!! Razz

When we first took Sirius camping he chewed through all the guy ropes and the tent fell down in the middle of the night...at least a van dosn't have guy ropes!

I phoned them today and it looks like we are going to book, but hubby has to book his holiday dates in at work, yet. However I am nervous of booking anything until I am certain as we once stayed at a supposed dog friendly guest house at a farm, and the proprietors threw us out (we had booked 2 days) after the first night saying our dog was not house trained as they said he widdled on the carpet!! HE HAD NOT!!....He had simply dribbled with his beard after drinking!!

We have a Motorhome with a garage for the dogs and they love it, it's great when they're wet and muddy to dry off and when your cooking to keep beards off the cooker then when we settle down for the evening we all cuddle up together. The dogs love it, I'm Sirius will enjoy himself as much as yourselves.

The cuddling in the evening sounds delightful!!
After Sirius has his supper, we have a group hug before nighty nights!! Very Happy

He loves camping so I am thinking he will like caravaning too!
