I have asked Paul if it would be o.k. to let some long term Briard owners that my Dad George Punter passed away on Friday 23rd July 2010. He and my Mum had Briards back in the early 80's and he compained long and hard to make his bitch a champion, Ch. K'Sar Royal Skyblazer at Woodspice, (Blaze). When we got Meadow he asked if he could show her at her first show, which he did for us at the Richmond Championship day where the rain did not stop all day and the ring was just awful, he then came to a couple more shows with us and caught up with a few of you from years ago. Once a Briard owner, forever a Briard lover.

So very sorry for the loss of your Father Maxine. You obviously have very fond memories of him, and they of course will stay with you always.
We too were at at the Richmond show on that day. It was a privelige to share the ring with such an accomplished Briardist. |

Sorry to hear that Maxine, it always brings back memories when you hear the loss of someone, I remember George and Blaze in the ring, Tony Armstrong would somethimes handle her at the shows, your "Harvey" Baldslow Wallbanger and his Brother B Wallbash, also your mum, I remember her quite clearly, that would have been mid to late '80's. |

Quire right Anne, Harvey was sooo small compared to his brother, and yes Tony handled Blaze in the ring and he actually handled her when she got her ticket. My Mum was always at the side lines brushing till the cows came home, which she done for us at the last Champ show we showed Meadow. |

Maxine, I'm so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Like Anne, I well remember him campaigning Skyblazer. Unlike Anne, my memory is not brilliant so I have looked it up. Blaze won her first three tickets to become a Champion under Harry Jordan, Group Captain Sutton and Percy Whittaker. Names to conjour with.
Please convey Storm and my sympathies to your family. |
