We are looking for a rescue Briard to re-home. We currently have a very handsome 3.5 year-old fawn boy called Diego who is ready for a new friend. I've registered with the various coordinators for re-homing, but interested to hear if anything comes up.

Does anyone know who this person is re-selling their five month old briard? Usually breeders have a contract to say if at any point they can no longer keep the dog it must be returned to the breeder. I deeply concerned to think that someone can just re-sell a five month old puppy like this why on earth did they get it in the first place just to toss it aside because they are pregnant. I have always had dogs and never tossed mine aside when I had children. Please contact the breeder I am sure they would be so upset to learn of this situation and would love to have the puppy returned to them.

I have looked no contact details, they should not be selling on there. There should have contacted the breeder. This isnt nice.

I do not mean to sound harsh but as a breeder I would be deeply upset if puppy owners did not contact me if they had a problem. Briard people are lovely and all so helpful. If she felt she could not contact the breeder I am sure there are plenty of briard people who would offer their help. Whether it is to help with walking or finding a suitable home. It might be wise for the lady to give sheila cann a ring she would be extremely helpful: 07721966175 or if I can offer help or advice please feel free to contact me: Sarah 07790222929

completely agree , she should not privately advertised as she probably will not know how to vet people. lets hope this little girl finds her way back to her breeder.

Has anyone left a message with this lady to contact the original breeder or Sheila Cann?

If not I will do it, I am a member on pre-loved.

Hi have messaged this lady through preloved this morning. I have advised her that it might be in her contract that she informs her breeder (Gilcoru) first before rehoming her. Would a breeder give a "refund" as maybe she is wanting some of her money back.

I would have her if I could talk my mam into puppy sitting two puppies whilst I am at work.

We all know how difficult puppies are especially when teething and training. Lets give her some slack, poor girl might be hormonal and have other stresses in her life as well as been pregnant.

Does anyone know this girls situation or in fact the situation of the breeder.I agree wholeheartily that the breeder should be told if there are problems however the briard in question is the property of the girl. I feel people are being a little sanctimoneous in judging circumstances here.

I haven't contacted her as thought it inappropriate way to re-home a 5 month old puppy. While we are looking for a suitable dog to re-home with us I think it would be better if the pup went back to the breeder then the appropriate checks can be made of potential new owners and the history of the puppy be made available to prospective owners. Briards can be challenging youngsters so I was very surprised to read they had taken one on during pregnancy.

Hi,

Ian , I quite agree with you it isn't the best way to find a re-home but the other way to look at it is , if you reply, find out the info you need to know and the dog is suitable then at least it would be going to home that has the knowledge to take care of her and give her a forever home. It is the way the owner has chosen to find a new home, but if you found out the breeder you could always contact them yourself to ask the questions you need answered, then you could make your own informed decision.

The ad has just reappeared. I think I have less problems than some of you with this if the owner really is going to vet possible homes properly - but an 800 sale price? I totally understand that circumstances can mean you have to rehome but looking to make a profit just seems plain wrong.

I agree that 800 is alot to expect for a preowned dog but no profit in that. She would have paid at least that for the puppy in the first place then vet bills injections etc. Just very sad that she cann't cope with herr.

I just think it is a shame that this situation exists and hope the lady finds a way to resolve it without the dog suffering as a result. Sad I know there are good people, who want to help her, so fingers crossed....
