Once again, with a broken heart, I have to post the devastating news of the passing of a fabulous, loving, Briard. Jenna was such a sweet, wonderful girl who was such a joy to share our lives. Devastated we only had 7+ months with her.
Jenna went from strength to strength. From a couch potato to this bouncy, walk- loving dog. We entered her in a local dog show in the beginning of July .....she took 1st place. Jenna was soooo happy....strutting around the ring.
Jenna took everything in stride....never objected to any challenge or change.
On Monday she collapsed, was rushed to the vet, to find a mass in her spleen that bled out causing cardiac arrest. They tried unsuccessfully to revive her.
There were really no warning signs.... I had just taken her to the vet for a check up on the 14 July.
I was away visiting my family, looking forward to returning to Jenna....to see her excited, smiling face but instead there was only the empty house. Cannot believe we are going through this after losing Jamais in November. I had so many things planned to do with Jenna.
We were so blessed to have known & loved her...only wish iwe could have had her longer.

Another ******* spleen. So so sorry that you didn't get longer together. She clearly had long enough to steal your heart and at least you know that she had a great time with you.

Ohhhh Liz I'm so sorry, she clearly landed on all four paws when she came to you. She was loved dearly, and she will always be with you.

Take heart that she was loved for those few short months you had her & she obviously knew it. I really am sorry.

I am so sorry to hear your terrible news. You must feel cheated, having had her for such a short time, and it's far too soon after losing A Jamais to be going through such grief again. I hope you can take comfort in the fact that Jenna's last few months have been such happy ones with you and it was all over very quickly for her, without her having to suffer a long, painful, debilitating illness. It sounds as though she enriched your lives as much as you enriched hers. The pain of losing them is too awful for words, but I always think they are worth it because of the happiness they bring while they're with us. Thinking of you.

Oh Liz, so sorry to hear about Jenna. She clearly thrived with you, though, and her last months were so special for her and for you. Thinking of you at this sad time.

Liz and Ian I am so very sorry for your loss and so soon after loosing your boy A'Jamais. I think you are wonderful special people to take on a 12 year old re home Jenna. She was a very lucky Briard to spent her last days so well cared for and loved.
I hope there is another Briard in need of a fabulous home just waiting for you to help fill the terrible void in your hearts and home.
