I have spoken at length to Sheila Cann this morning from the British Briard Club rescue/rehome and she has spoken with Mill rescue and has the situation in hand, she tells me she has a home lined up for this lucky boy, and is satisfied with the progress of the situation.

Dear All
I was in contact with Sheila on Friday when I first heard about this dog at Mill Rescue and I felt sure we could offer this dog a good home as i have a rehomed one already - So I went home feeling great and then promptly got shot down by my husband who decided that we didn't need another rescue dog at this time. The RESCUE being the crox of the matter. Althouth we have REHOMED two already one at 18 months and the other at 5 months it is the fact that he doesn't know the history of this dog that seems to be the problem. I suppose I could nag , stamp feet, shout and scream but in the end everyone in the home needs to feel comfortable about rescuing/rehoming. Therefore I emplore anyone who feels they can offer this dog a loving home please give him a chance - I feel I have really let him down and also Sheila who I need to contact today to let her know the outcome.
Heres wishing for a great home for Cody. XX

Well - 3 people I emailed are phoning the center apparantly....

One is a lady in hampshire with a farm....

Second is a horsey lady with a riding school that just lost out on a labrodoodle pup and has 3 small kids....

The other is a friend in Hereford with 3 pubs and a young spaniel....

Whether or not any of them will come off is another matter but just goes to show you can rev up interest so hit the email!

Fingers crossed.....

His details have been taken down off dog pages. So I presume so. Very Happy I know Sheila is very busy with family at the moment so don't like to bother her.

Dear All
I have just rung Mill Rescue - Good news - Cody went to a home at the weekend. A lady who has had Briards before but at the moment has a Newfoundland. So he has company and the lady at the rescue centre said they were a very nice family. So fingers crossed everything turns out for him.

I recently discovered this thread one night when i was on the net and typed in Mill Rescue. It was my partner Ali and myself that adopted Cody.We were very lucky to adopt Cody he is a lovable affectionate character, good with children who was brilliant company to our Newfoundland who we sadly lost last month.Any tips on bad breath as Cody has had issues with his teeth since we got him. Cody is our second Briard we had a little Lady called Jess who again had a fantastic temperment who we also adopted from a neighbour who did not want her anymore

Hi there, Steve

Welcome to you, Ali and Cody to the FBC, and thanks for your post. It's lovely to get an update and to hear that Cody found such a great forever home, though commiserations on losing your Newfoundland.

On bad breath, I'd recommend a raw food diet. We rehomed Ross a couple of years ago and he had terrible breath when he arrived but since we changed both dogs to raw meaty bones it's been much better Very Happy

Welcome Steve, it sounds as if Cody has landed on all four paws with a family who love him. It was fantastic reading back through this post to see what members of the community were doing to try to find the boy a home. As for the breath no ideas, any tips welcome on an occasionally windy dog!! ( Or maybe a husband blaming her)

Hi Gail

At the risk of sounding boring - raw meaty bones diet helped both Lulu and Ross with wind problems too.

Not sure I'd recommend it for husband though Laughing

Way to go Steve and Ali. So very sorry to hear the sad news about your much loved Newfie.

I echo Lulu re the Raw Meaty Bone diet for bad breath, wind and general good health.

Looking foward to hearing more about Cody and seeing some pictures.

Kisses for Cody coming from Fleur, Bonbon and Tara.
