When will spring come, Meadows paws must be so soft with all the cleaning we have to do when she comes in from even a wee in the garden, a bowl has been placed by the back door and so many towels have to be washed, how does any of you cope with more than one dog!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I agree entirely. It seems to rain or snow every day! We are so sick of this weather. I just hope that means we will have a great summer!!
We have two boys and you are quite right it is a nightmare when they come in from a walk! |

I'm with you too. The novelty of the snow wore off months ago, I'm just longing for some warm sunshine.
And yes, we too have a nightmare after every walk or wee. I've just spent the last hour brushing/mopping the floor (again) Thank goodness we have hard floors downstairs! |

Just the one dog, and a towel by every door, her towels are also really dirty and don't last long. I had half term week off and had leisurly walks in; hail, rain, bizzards and fog. Today we've had bright sunshine cold but dry. We've also got an electronic weather station that we've got obsessive with, so I know exactly what the temp is at 6.50am whan I take her out in the morning!!!! And the sensible Karndene flooring all round, ideal for sweeping and mopping.

Ivy has had so many trips to the bathroom to wash her feet she doesn't even care anymore! But...
Spring is here! And right on time!!!
It will take a while for the mud to dry but things are definitely improving! |

I know this is silly but if you dip your dogs feet in warm water the water goes black but it saves the house

It's amazing just how much dirt comes out when you dunk their paws in water! You should point out, Tim, that this has to be done outside, otherwise by the time you have persuaded him to put his front paws in, the kitchen is flooded and you are soaking wet! I opt for the dry towel rub unless paws are really muddy and yes, this means the washing machine is always on! My kitchen floor is always a disgrace after my husband has walked Hugo, as he always convinces himself that the dog's paws are clean and dry and require no further attention! |

My paw plunger minus the lid has been a god send during all this wet, mucky weather. Its amazing just how dirty the water is even when the paws look relatively clean. I have eight paws to contend with, copious amounts of dirty towels in the washing machine, along with throws from the couches and beds and of course the compulsary dirty kitchen floor. Hurrah for the dry weather.
I have a fawn and a black and when their paws are dirty they have their own clean water but for some reason there is always more dirt from the black paws!!!!! |

That's interesting! I can't compare, but I do know how dirty the water is after 8 black paws have been in there |

own garden is so boggy (our soil is really clayey and holds the water forever) we have to change the water in the bowl after each paw some days, if we are lucky we can get away with 2 paws per a washing up bowl of water. |

It's not dirt washing out of black briards paws, it's black dye. |

Aw, Carol, you've seen through us. All briards are fawn really - those of us who have blacks just spend a lot of time with the hair dye out |

Can anyone help. I've several large patches on my sitting room carpet. Thought it was dirty so scrubbed it with everything I can think of. I've now discovered its where Hamish lies and its not dirt but think its oil out of his coat. He's due a bath but don't know how to get the marks out of the carpet. Any suggestions ? |

Try brown paper and an iron. Place the brown paper over the patch and iron over the paper. It works with wax so I am sure it should work with oil from his coat. If that doesn't work then I would consult a professional cleaning company and see what they come up with. Only a suggestion. Hope it helps. Debbie and all at Debuet. |

if its only fom his coat the usual carpet cleaner that you find in supermarket should work |
