The Fun weekend is open to all whether you compete with your dog or not. The obedience on the Saturday is relaxed and fun, then feeling confident why not enter the Pre Beginners Obedience Competion on the Sunday the Pre Beginners class is suitable for most the test consists of
Heel on lead
Heel Free (off lead) botth usually consist of a short distance within a ring with a couple of turns.
Recall from the sit or down dog to sit in front of you then return to heel.
1 minute sit stay
2 minute down stay
Entry Forms can be downloaded from the British Braird Club site.

The Bronze Good Citizens on Saturday is open to all and how great would that be to go home having atchieved that. If you go on the Kennel Club site there is information on what that consists of.
Hope to see you all there
Brenda

Poor Dillion, Roxy was the same, she now loves the car. Have you tried rescue remedy, I think it helped a lot, but I have to say she wasn't keen on having it!!!!!

Brion and I would like to come for the Saturday. I haven't got a tent (it is always on my Christmas list) but is there a Travellodge that takes dogs nearby? Not so much fun as camping but it would be a start.

Carol, try scullcap and valerian by Dorwest Herbs, I can definatley say that they work, Rosie is the worst traveller ever, but just one dose and she was fine, will definately be using them on the trip to France next month.

Is this specifically for dogs? I'm the worst traveller ever too - seasick, carsick, airsick, you-name-it-sick - so this might be worth a try if it's human friendly too.

Hi Pauline, try contacting Dorwest Herbs as what I have is veterinary strength. The dosage is 1-2 tablets per 5kgs bodyweight daily. I only give her 5 tablets about 30 mins before travelling and now problems and also no side effects. She gets out the car perfectly normal. They have a website

www.dorwest.com

They are based in Bridport, Dorset and it would be worth contacting them or even find a local Homeopath to see if they could give you the equivalent for humans. If you are that bad travelling then anything is worth a go.

Good luck

Well we have been out in the nasty car today, and it wasn't a nasty car, done about 25 miles, Dillon dribbled a bit but apart from that he was fine.

Well done Dillon. Sometimes it is just repetition and increasing time and distance that works. We did all that with Rosie but I think she is just an obstinate Golden Retriever!!!

Aslan was a very sicky on any journey, until we took him with one of the others. he stopped stright away, may reassurance from them I dont know.
Also all the pups from aged 4 weeks I took in the car most days 1 or 2 were vvery sick, many 1 boy. but now apparently fine now 13 months old.

Just a reminder if you want to do your Bronze Good Citizens test you dog should have an identification tag complying with the law on their collar with owners address.

The law states that the owners NAME and ADDRESS is on the dog tag.
House number and Postcode are acceptable for address.

Additional details are permitted such as phone numbers etc but not necessary.

Thanks Kim! Very Happy looking forward to meeting you too!!

I have booked Pud in for a professional shampoo and set so he looks his best for the event!! Even though he is brushed every day and washed fort-nightly he ALWAYS looks scruffy!! This is due to his favorite pass times of snuffling in bushes, rolling in long grass and loving plays in mud!!....hopefully he will look all smart for the day!!
Very Happy

Dora and us are really looking forward to the fun weekend. She hasn't any Briard friends where we live and has only ever met one Briard since she was a puppy.

Looking forward to meeting everyone

Jacky and Stewart, all the way from Orkney.

Hi Michelle
The B&B within walking distance is Dave Burton Church Farm tel:
01675 442641 or www.churchfarmacc.com. The site for the Fun Weekend is not that far from the NEC, Birmingham Airport and train station just a short car journey so prehaps if you look in the Crufts info you might find a hotel there if Church Farm is fully booked. Hope you can come.
Brenda
