Hello all,

Tim and I are off to the US from Sept. 1-17 and we're looking for a briard-sitter (Nero in a kennel? Perish the thought! Laughing). We were about to put the word out amongst Tim's students when it occurred to us that perhaps someone on this site might fancy coming to live in our cottage in Cheadle while we're away... It would be great to get someone who was used to briards and all their funny ways! Unfortunately I doubt Nero would appreciate having another briard come to stay as well (although you never know...). Anyhoo, if you fancy Nero-sitting whilst sampling the manifold delights of Manchester and its environs (plus 20 a day!) please get in touch.

Cheers,
Roz Very Happy

Do you have a local petsitter who could home-board?

Our occasional dog-walker home-boards, but we've always had someone come and stay at our place so Nero can be in familiar surroundings (spoiled much?
Laughing ). This is our preference this time round too, but if we can't find anyone then I'll certainly check out home-boarding options. Thanks for your suggestion! Very Happy

I should perhaps mention, in case the delights of Manchester aren't enough inducement (imagine! Shocked ), that we are but 25-30 mins away from the Peak District and some lovely Cheshire villages! Very Happy

I know a brilliant sitter but she takes them into her home. Her name is Denise Hambidge and she lives in Solihull. She always has our Briards and since losing her last Briard last year she loves them to stay and she knows them inside out. However after telling you all of this I know Denise is away at the same time, but worth thinkng of for your next holiday.

Thanks Yvonne, Denise sounds perfect! What a shame she'll be away. We're now looking at home-boarding options, but clearly we should have booked something much earlier as everyone we've tried is unavailable. D'oh!
