Our beloved Crackers has crossed the Rainbow Bridge and been with us for the last time. Came home from his operation today, wanted to go out for a walk with my husband and I (wouldn't go without husband), then came back and said his goodbye and left us. We will miss him terribly, he was our first briard and will always be our number one briard. Crackers we love you xx

My heart goes out to you all tonight but how lovely that you had that last walk before he crossed the bridge.Yes he will all ways be your number one briard -once a briard owner life is never the same again without the loving 'heart wrapped in fur'. In time another will be there for you although he/she will never replace him.
My thoughts are with you and especially so since it is only 3months since we lost our Bryn age 10 and memories of happy days are only just beginning to overcome the sadness but we will always have an empty space in our hearts
Run free Crackers

Oh no. After reading your earlier posting, everything seemed so optimistic. Very upsetting to know Crackers didn't survive. As most of us know, it does take time to get over that first extreme pain of loss. Briards are such a special breed that take over our hearts & lives. Hopefully your happy, loving memories will strengthen you.
Your in our thoughts & prayers as you deal with this.

So dreadfully sorry to hear your sad news. Nothing can prepare you for losing him. It's so painful seeing all the reminders of him everywhere, but you and your husband must be a comfort to each other and your many happy memories will get you through it.
You will never love another dog as much as him, but one day, when you are ready, you will come to love another one as much as him. You can never replace him, but in time another dog with a very different personality will fill the empty hole and it's a great compliment to Crackers to admit that you can't live without a dog.
For now, take time to grieve. Your memories will make you cry and smile and laugh. You will ask yourself was he worth all this pain and, without hesitation, you will think back to the joy he brought and answer "Yes he was!"
We are thinking of you.

Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and words. Of course everywhere we look he's there and of course there is a big hole, both physically and emotionally. He had the biggest, kindest heart we could have ever wished for in our first briard. Frida (our other briard, who will be 10 in May) seems quite "up", she's probably thinking "great, more food for me!" LOL and Mischa (our little mix dog) is just staying very close to me. He was her best doggie friend and they had some great times together as well. He was so much bigger than she is but he was always a gentleman with her, even when she used to grab his tail! Just have to take each day as it comes, its not my first time losing a furry friend and it won't be the last I know and as painful as it is now, very happy that he came into our lives. Its also good to have this support here as at one time or another you have felt the pain. So thank you again.
