Have just put 2 new pictures of Shaggy dog being pampered at the groomers ready for his big day. How gorgeous is he compared to the first photos of him. Thanks to all concerned, he's a lucky boy.

Peppers new Mummy was waiting for her she has her forever home. Sheila is on route with Shaggy dog as she was speaking to me he was licking her and Roy. He's one very happy dog. All who have been involved in his rescue are shedding tears of joy mission accomplished. Thank you all so very much for your kind generosity making this possible you are wonderful people. Debs I'm sure will keep us informed of his progress.
Thanks again a very emotional Brenda on behalf of the rescue team.

Great to hear that he is here safely. It's truly heart-warming to get such uplifting news. Well done to all those involved in this international rescue. Will look forward to regular progress reports until he is settled in his forever home. Will Pepper stay with him?

Hi Ruth

Pepper was another of Clare's rescues from the hell hole in Cyprus, she already has a forever home and was met at Gatwick by her new Mum & Dad. Although they travelled over together they have separate beginnings in the UK Smile

Pepper is a little pointer X puppy

I am sure Brenda / Sheila or Debbie will update on Shaggy later.

Msj from Sheila regarding Shaggy's arrival last night

Hello everyone on FBC,

Well, where to start? Think I will start with last night....... Well, we got to Gatwick at 8 o clock, I cannot really explain how I felt, full of emotion and anticipation to say the least. We actually waited until 9.45 and heard the crate's being rattled through and there he was, standing up and wagging his tail furiously. Roy called his name (embarrassing ! especially as we always shorten their names!0 and he opened the cage and he went absolutely potty, leaping all over us, I, of course cried my eyes out and my man couldn't speak. We sat on the ground with him and were licked all over. I cannot tell you how fabulous it felt.

We got off quickly as he wanted to leap on the other three rescue's who arrived with him, and one was very traumatized. I sat in the back with him and he just didn't leave me alone and kept heaving forward to kiss Roy's ear, he liked that (!) About two hours later, we arrived at Debbie's, she was in the front garden, at 11.25 p.m. on a chilly night,? and she got the same greeting as us. He took over her two sofa's, and her lovely pup Demi, put him gently in his place, well, he was leaping all over her as well. This went on for over an hour and he was so happy.

This behaviour is so un-Briardy as YOU all know, he really is OTT, and he is quite Beardie looking, but who the hell cares eye ? We, the fabulous Briard family, have got him out of that hell-hole and safely here, surrounded by love and attention, and then training.

My Milli would have annihilated this little boy, our Golden would have coped, but Milli no, so I now totally know I have made the right decision to part with him to the perfect lady for him, an actual trainer. Those who know me do know all my dogs are absolutely un-trained but really loved.

Now its over to Debs, I know he will be okay, and local Briard friends will help out if need be, and we will be doing that trip again and again I know that.

What an amazing experience this has been, from that initial decision that was keeping me awake, to Brenda's wonderful fund raising, and of course, your help, which has been truly inspirational. We are a brilliant crowd us lot, and I cannot thank you enough for your help and contribution's.

A final word about Clare in Cyprus, she deserves a Knighthood for sure, her dedication to saving these desolate creatures from the hell-hole they are kept in, is truly incredible. She has her heart broken on a daily basis, but never gives up. Included with our boy was an 11 year old Pointer bitch, in a frightful state, had been in this pound for 5/6 years, and no-one wanted her (yes, more tears when we saw her) she has gone to a lovely home here on loads of medication, we wish her happy remaining years.

I will re-join this site and try and find the time to be involved with you all. Thank you again and again, do you mind if I mention your names on a future mail ? you can let my new P.A. (Brenda) know the answer to this.!

lots of love from Sheila Cann, soon to be De Ste Croix (what a flippin name!)

An update from his foster mum Debs

Hi all,

Well a very Waggy Shaggy had a quiet night. Didn't wee or anything last night until about 9am this morning, then both were massive!!!

He met all the Briards today and they all just sniffed him and you could see them think....oh....another dog, then just carried on as normal. Demi has a new playmate - they haven't stopped running around yet. He's very very fast - I would think Beardie crossed with a whippet!!! He also likes anything that moves such as birds, my cat....which he has already caught twice, then doesn't know what to do!

I just took Waggy Shaggy and Demi out for a walk to see what he thought of things in the countryside - he was fine - (couldn't believe that mister skinny slipped THROUGH my gate though - luckily he was on the lead)

He's already met my friends miniature Poodle pup, and they hit it off straight away. He's got his foot on her in the photo

Someone has obviously already been clicker training him - he looks at the floor as soon as he hears a click....very funny. I have just taught him TOUCH.....hand touching - he's got that sorted already!

Its difficult to get any photos as he doesn't stay still for long....but here are a couple - one when my friend was here with treats to try and keep them in one place, and one out walking

He's adorable

Debs

He looks to be settling in so well. It is so nice to see the photo of him with his new friends. I think he is more briard than anything else. You only have to look at the first photo to see it shine through. However it doesn't sound like he has the usual reserved personality Very Happy What ever his heritage I am just so happy that he is safe and sound in the UK.
