Please can everyone send positive thoughts & white light for Ina. i took her to the vets this morning for an Ultrasound, as I found a lump in her tummy. I have just had the phone call that I didn't expect. It looks like she has a tumour on her spleen. They are going to x-ray her to check it hasn't spread to anywhere else & then remove it all & the spleen. This has happened so quickly.
Please please have her in your thoughts

Lots of white light coming from us, know how you're feeling, hope Ina pulls through and they've got on top of it quickly. Will be thinking of you, particularly as Lola was Ina's half sister

Love and best wishes from Lynda & Webster

Ina has had an operation to remove her spleen. They found 2 tumours the size of oranges, one in her spleen & one on the edge. X-rays show that hopefully it hasn't spread to any where else. The vet looked at other organs while he was there & they seem ok. They just phoned to say she is quite bright & breezy & is going in the garden for a wee. She will be kept overnight as she is on a drip for meds/fluids etc & hopefully will be home tomorrow.
Thank you all so much for your support, it has really helped.

All love and positive vibes. Such good news that she came through the op OK as blood loss can be a problem, Os was home the same night when his spleen was removed last year and despite his age he made a remarkably quick recovery. We so know how you are feeling when something is so sudden. Get well Ina

Ina is home. Very Happy Picked her up from vets an hour ago. She had a wee on her bed in the car, bless, had had a drink & a poo & is just going to have some painkiller, but she seems ok. She isn't allowed to go for a walk for a few days, just a potter in the garden. A check up on Monday to see how wound is doing (a very neat 4" long).
Thank you for all your best wishes. I have give her a hug from you all.

Great that she's home. Re the wound if you look at mu post from June 23rd 2013 you will see my Lulu in a special dog t shirt which stopped her licking the wound. Better than a huge collar. I'm very happy to send it to you to use whilst Ina is recovering if you'd like. No problem if you have other methods - just thought I'd ask.

Wow just 4"!! Ina is lucky. Ossie's mass was so big the 'zipper' was the entire length of his tummy. The good thing was he didn't bother it all despite no dressing. The vet said they don't tend to bother stitches there, hope Ina's the same. And to reassure you when the time came the nurse got the stitches out amazingly easily. Keep getting better Ina, lots of gentle hugs sounds like the order of the day.

Arniewhite1, that is a very kind offer. If she does lick I will take you up on the offer, but so far she has not shown any interest, only in her shaved leg where the drip was.
She is very restless at the moment, keeps wanting to go out, but when she gets out she wants to come back in again, and keeps making noises like Chewbacca. Hopefully it is just the after effects of the anaesthetic.

Dear Ina, all that's involved in an operation for a dog must be so confusing for her. Hope she is gradually feeling safe back at her precious home. Amanda

I'm so glad Ina has come through her op so well and hope that she continues to make a good recovery. Dylan made Chewbacca noises after his ops. I think you're right that it's the after effects of the anaesthetic.

Thank you all for your good wishes.
Ina went for a check up yesterday & she is doing well. her stitches are healing nicely.
She is still on restricted walks, on lead, in the cool of the evening & just for about 20 mins.
She has recovered remarkably quickly & seems almost back to normal (well as normal as a potty Briard can be Laughing ). Stitches out next week Smile

Ina has had her stitches out today & she is looking good.
Had a good discussion with vet this morning about how to manage things should they occur. I am hopeful she is going to be with us a lot longer than anticipated Smile ( for those who haven't seen post,' Anyone had dealings with Hemangiosarcoma )
