In a Spanish rescue there is a 5/6 year old Briard type bitch needing help. She is desperate for a new home.
Sheila Cann was contacted about her and asked to help she can arrange to get the Briard over here but we need to raise the funds to do that and once over here we need to find a forever home for her.
Her owner had to give her up as he was unable to keep her, she has touched the heart of the kind lady at the rescue as we all know Briards can and she is putting in the extra effort to help her.
The British Briard rescues are unable to help so i am appealing to my kind friends for help to rescue this poor girl.
when I have more details I'll get them posted.
Sorry to be on the scrounge again but if we can help save and give a happy ever after to this girl it's worth it.

This is the email received from the lady involved with the rescue in Spain regarding Bria.

Hi,
My name is Michele and I volunteer for a dog charity/shelter in Estepona Spain.
We currently have a BRIARD that is looking to be rehome do.
Her owner gave her up for adoption as he was having financial problems.
She really was struggling in our shelter. Her owner said she was not good with other dogs but that was not her problem. She was in shock and depressed. She had a sore infected law and needed to go to the vets for castration. We knew she had some matted fur under her legs so asked the vet to take a look once she was under. Her paw was treated. The castration as normal. The fur under her legs was matted and full or burrs. This resulted in her needing a severe haircut and her skin cleaned as some had entered her skin. I was lucky enough to find a foster home and the foster collected her directly from the vets.
She has settled into her foster home along with other dogs well. She is slow to trust but having read up on the breed I see that is normal. But once she does she is fine. She is not gushing of affection like a Lab for instance.
I then managed to find an adopter that fell through last minuet.
The foster home can keep her a little longer but not much.

I have worked in rescue for 7 years and sometimes a dog looks at you and touches your soul. Bria has done this to me. I feel compelled to go that extra mile for her as she needs me to and deserves it.
My question to you is there anything you might be able to do to help or do you have any ideas?

I attach a link to our website so you can see her and all her details, along with some photos.

A lady on Facebook has mentioned she may be able to help with her travel to the uk around the 20th August.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanking you in advance.

Kind regards
Michele Yanez-Bowker

Hi - happy to make a contribution. If travel is arranged, by road, through Spain and France I should be able to offer a stop-over in Basse Normandie (about 1 1/2 hours from Caen Ferry)

Happy to donate. Let us know how after the weekend. Hope you have a fab time and the weather is kind. Jealous we can't be there with Fin, but we just don't have the equipment. Might look into dog-friendly B&Bs next year!

Sorry for the delay in an update I've been away at the British Briard Camping weekend and have been busy.
Anyway Sheila Cann has been in touch over Bria and she has arranged transport to get her here to the UK with a lovely lady who is going to fetch her back from her holiday in Portugal so she has booked a dog cabin so Bria will not have to be kennelled and will have company. Sheila and husband will pick her up as they arrive in the UK.
For those of you kind people who have offered donations I will send a PM with Sheila's bank details for you to pay donations directly to her.
Thank you all so much for your kindness to enable Bria to have a better life.

Sorry for the delay in update but life has been a bit manic at the moment.
Thanks so very much you lovely people you have made this possible when Bria is here I'm hoping to get you progress reports and pictures.
Thanks again

Well folks I'm pleased to tell you all that Bria is now in her forever home, after a huge team effort organised by Sheila Cann.
Sincere thanks go to yourselves for contributing to her costs. T
hanks to Michele and the staff at the rescue for all their help going the extra mile to help transporting her to Seville.
The most huge THANK YOU to the lovely Cogan family who interrupted their holiday to drive to Seville to collect Bria making special hotel and cabin arrangements so Bria could be with them all the time wonderful people. On docking in the UK they reluctantly handed her over to Sheila and husband Roy who in turn drove her to Yorkshire to her forever home.
Everyone concerned has said what a beautiful Briard she is and have fallen in love with her.
Bria's new home is with Jdrro off this site and I'm sure he will give updates and pictures as she settles with their boy Barney.
So another happy ending thanks to all you wonderful caring dog loving folks.Thank you all on behalf off Bria.
Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
